Question by Beverly H: What are good products for very dry curly brittle hair?
My friend has the dryest and curliest hair ever..she’s white but the texture of her hair is that of a more ethnic person. I was thinking of getting her some hair products for her birthday coming up because she complains about how she can’t grow her hair past her shoulders. What would be a good idea for this? I was thinking Ethnic hair products.

Question by smartchick114: What exactly are “ethnic hair/skin care products”?
I am sending care packages to soldiers overseas. Some of the African American female soldiers have requested ethnic skin and hair care products. Seeing as I have to slather myself in SPF 50 before greeting the sun and live in a pretty white-bread area, I have no idea what this means. What is the difference between ethnic hair products and non-ethnic hair products?? And where can I get ethnic hair and skin care products? Anyone want to help a pale sister out?

Answer by Miss-Read
Ethinic hair and skin products are ones made for people who are of darker decent.
You probably know that africain-americains have thicker courser hair than white people, which means they need different treatments for it. There are many product lines made specifically for this perpose. Any drug store should carry them. Skin care is probably darker make-up or mosturizers.

Question by Kyung: How many personal care products do you use on a day-to-day basis?
This includes hair care products, skin care products, soap to wash your hands, perfumes, deodorants, makeup, or anything that you apply to your body, whether it be your hair or skin, on a daily basis.
I am just wondering how dependent we are on personal care products.

Question by Blah: What are some great hair products for repairing naturally curly hair?
Recently I’ve found out that I have curly hair after about 2 years of getting my hair deep conditioned & straightened. I have between 3B & 3C hair type but its frizzy with heat damage. So id like to go naturally & find some washes/products that hydrate my hair without being too oily, repair my frizz & split ends, & defines while holding my curls without gels making it crunchy & too shiny looking. Help please 🙂

One method to make it look fuller, add body, tame the curls, bouncier, thicker, SEXIER, softer & shinier hair is to set your hair with plastic curlers (not Velcro) after you towel dry, you’ll end up with uniform balance of curls. Blow dry briefly while curling them in curlers. Take them out, and finger comb to style. Used by the best hair color models, and the fashion industry, like Victoria Secret Fashion Show Dec. 2009, 2010, & 2011, America’s Next Top Models, EXPRESS, Toddlers & Tiaras, Dance Moms, Dancing with the Stars, even used on Oprah’s hair . . . . and continued to be used today where salons care about pampering your hair. When you see hair on TV a hair color commercial, they’re not done by curling or straightening tools. Hair that shines like that and feels like hair, not hay, has to be done by the best hair tools available w/out damaging to the hair. When you take the curlers out, finger comb to style or lightly brush. Tousle the hair up. or shake your hair. You can use large, medium or small curlers, that depends on the length of your hair. Think of JLo’s hair, she was voted as the Sexiest Woman by People magazine and Glamour’s Woman of the Year 2011.
Google: Imogen Thomas wears rollers in her hair to take out the trash.
A normal shampoo & conditioner formulated for frizzy & curly hair.
Washing less often, builds the natural oil your hair needs, to get them smoother, shinier, silkier, softer. Man-made products are just temporary, until you wash them again, and at the same time washing off the natural oil your hair NEEDS. Hair products just absorb on your hair if they’re dry, like a sponge.
Jessica Simpson have figured it out, she said she wash her hair every week. She used to abuse her hair, then start selling hair extensions because her hair starting falling from all the chemicals, but she woke up and found out how to keep her hair healthy AGAIN.
Cutting your split ends yourself, spend 5-10 mins. on a sunny day so you can easily spot them, using a 2″ scissors, cut strand by strand, section by section, allowing new growth to take over. Then 2x a year, get a good hair cut. This won’t speed things up, but it will make the hair look healthier while it’s growing. Even healthy hair like mine get them, due to normal brushing & styling.
When you wash your hair with one of those nutrient-rich shampoos or conditioners, most of the nutrients and active ingredients in the product don’t actually end up in your hair, they wind up down the drain… along with all the money you spent on the shampoo. It is HOW you use to style your hair or what styling tools that damage the hair, and what chemicals you’re adding to the hair, not the shampoo or conditioner. As you’ve figured it out already.

Question by TinklePuff741: What are some good volumizing hair products for straight fine hair?
I have shoulder-length straight fine hair, and haven’t had much success in “volumizing” it with any hair products.
If you also have long straight fine hair and have found successful volumizing products, could you please let me know… Shampoos, conditioners, mousse, hair spray, whatever 🙂
Also, please include where the product(s) can be purchased.

Try to after you washed:
Dry your hair a little bit
Then you take some gel (just a bit) and rub it on you scalp not so that it looks wet really just a half a teaspoon or so
the when you dry your hair lift the hair up at the roots (DO NOT BLOWAVE YOUR HAIR DOWN) it makes it limp.
Try to lift the hair up with your brush
